Heraklion airport manager’s optimism for “full activity” soon
Official “first” for Tourism, today, with the first tourists, Germans from Hannover, to … set foot in Crete, at 10.00 in the morning. In total, on the first day of the official “opening”, the program has 15 flights. Heraklion Airport Governor George Pliakas told Cretalive about an “important day” as he said “we are gradually returning to normalcy”.
The lens of Cretalive was found at the airport of Heraklion, early on Friday morning, recording the mobility at the international airport that opened its “gates” to foreign visitors.
“We love Greece and Crete, we feel safe!” stressed in his statements to the camera of Cretalive tourists from Israel and Germany who arrived, yesterday, at the airport of Heraklion “Nikos Kazantzakis”. As they added, they follow the protection protocols against the coronavirus and expressed their optimism that “everything will go well!”.
At the same time, Tourism opens by sea. Greece is the first country in which TUI Cruises starts cruising this summer. After a long break, Mein Schiff 5 starts with a week-long trip to and from Crete. About 1,000 customers of the first voyage boarded yesterday at the port of Heraklion, while the ship departs at 9 a.m. with destinations Rhodes, Piraeus and Souda of Crete.
