Overview

The locals simply say the city of Saint. The city is built in the bay of Mirabello. That tour in Agios Nikolaos is the most beautiful in Crete. Saint is a beautiful and quite “easy” city because it has short distances. Most noteworthy, its trademark is Lake Voulismeni. Connected to the sea through a small canal. Saint George Selinari Monastery

A must-visit enchanting monastery! It is located on the National Road between Heraklion to Agios Nikolaos. The tradition says travelers must stop at the monastery when passing by in bid of good luck.
City Of Agios Nikolaos

Agios Nikolaos, capital of the Prefecture of Lasithi, is one of the most highly developed tourist towns in Greece. It is the administrative, communications, cultural and commercial center of the Prefecture, with approximately 8500 inhabitants. The climate in the area is mild with extremely low humidity. That is the ideal place to relax and recover one's energy.
Kritsa Village

A beautiful small village in the mountain foothills, with narrow winding lanes and plenty of character. Renowned for the skill of the local weavers and embroiderers, many tourists visit just to see the beautiful lacework, table clothes and other cloths on display and for sale in the village.
Elounda Village

Because of the beauty of the bay and beaches at Elounda, it has become famous. The BBC filmed the TV series "Who Pays the Ferryman" here in the '70s. Many well known public figures have stayed here. There are many luxury resorts dotted about the area, and some high value properties.
Spinalonga

Spinalonga is a small island near Elounda in East Crete. It is also known as the Leper Island, as that is where lepers from Crete and the rest of Greece were quarantined until 1957. Today thousands of tourists visit Spinalonga each summer by boat from Agios Nikolaos, Elounda and Plaka, for a tour of its ruined buildings, which the Archaeological Service is laboriously trying to maintain.
